Grants

There is no more money for funding until the 2012 grant from Manchester Airport, assuming that will be forthcoming. However, if you are looking for funding for a project, please get in touch as members of the committee can help with looking for funding.

Arts Festival

At the 2011 AGM (click here to see minutes) in September we talked about an arts festival in Bolton in mid-June. It would coincide with the Le Mans Motorsport Festival, the College and University end of year art show and much more. Bolton Arts Forum has been asked if its members would like to be involved and, on your behalf, we said yes!

One of the suggestions was an Arts Trail in the shops and business premises in Bolton - a trail that reflects the nature of the business or the premises. The Arts Trail includes visual art, creative writing and music.

If you would like to be involved with this, or if you have any other ideas for you group to do something during the week of 14 to 21 June, please contact one of the people involved. We are open to suggestions, but you need to make them by mid-November at the latest as it all needs pulling together.

Contact: Laurette Evans, BAF Secretary on 01204 903353

or email l.evans@bolton.ac.uk

Alternatively, contact Christine Hall who lectures in tourism and event management at the University and will be involved in the management of the whole project.

Her phone number is 01204 903628 and email c.hall@bolton.ac.uk

New Members Rock It!

One of Bolton Arts Forum’s latest members is Rock It! Collective. They are a group of young musicians and performers working together to create more music activities for other young people in Bolton.

Rock it!

The group was formed by ex-participants of Bolton Council's Rock School project, who wanted to continue their activities and put Bolton's young musicians on the map. They have recently been awarded funding from BT Community Connections, Bolton CVS, Find Your Talent and Bolton Arts Forum to carry out live music training in 2010. The group aim to pass their skills onto other young people and put their own young bands event on later in the year as a result. Several members of the group are also undertaking Arts Awards.

Rock It!

It looks like it will be a busy year for the group, who hope to go from strength to strength in the coming months. To get in touch with the Rock It! Collective or learn more about the Rock School project, contact the Bolton Council Arts Development team on 01204 334335 or email:
